So, one of the queries I had with the new AtikOne was if would produce a flat field on the ED80 – otherwise it would need a field flattener…
Well, pleased to say that after measuring an image from the setup, it appears that a flattener is not required! Good news indeed 🙂
Here is the 3d plot from CCD Inspector – I had to download a trial version to do this – which shows a slight offset in the light cone from top-left to bottom right. This will be either a slight droop in the focuser or a slight collimation issue between the lens and detector. Either way, I won’t worry too much I think!
The first image shows the flat field plot, the second shows the light cone.
