more excuses!

Time seems to vanish at an alarming rate of knots just recently! SGL6 was back in April and I didn't post up a report (which is terrible) and even though I didn't get any imaging done, I did help out a few people on issues they were having!

Pressures of work and home I know affect everyone and of course, summer nights are sooooo short that finding the energy to stay up for a session makes it even more difficult!

Still, on the flip side, the 12" newtonian is back in the observatory and ready for first-light! I'm also looking at building a motorised focuser using arduino boards and bits from the very knowledgeable chaps on SGL who have set up a Yahoo group for the project. They will be doing cloud monitors and other cool stuff as well :)

And I really must knuckle down to do more updates to the site. To-do list looks like:

Just need to plan some time...... :)

I'm also making a 2011/12 season resolution to get better at recording observing/imaging sessions and to report them. I am terrible at doing this so have spent the last couple of weeks updating and setting my Deep Sky Planner installation to make it easier to record the data. There really is no excuse for not recording this info. I will look back in years to come and not have a record of what I have seen! Patrick Moore has ALL his observations - right back from when he started!

And with that, I'm off to do some more planning.... till next time, clear skies!
