Atik camera on-board

My new Atik 383L+ has arrived and I am mightily excited by the prospects this offers!

With my ED80, this gives a FoV of 101 x 77 arcmins (3 and a bit full moons by 2 and bit full moons!) and will get the bulk of M31 in, for example

I did manage to get half a first-light image, but for some reason I tried to save directly to the NAS over wireless, rather than to the local disk! Anyway, Maxim decided it didn't like that and everything hung up - or at least it appeared to! I admit I hadn't realised that the file size would have slowed things down a bit - nearly 10mb in size, compared to just under 3 with the SXH9!!

I also discovered I don't have sufficient bandwidth on the USB for the lodestar on the same hub, so need to do a bit of reconfiguring of the USB hubs - no big deal, and good to find out under test conditions!

Hopefully tonight (16th) will get a chance to get a proper first-light image! Fingers crossed!!
